  5. You can download the  latest version of the ownCloud Desktop Synchronization

  8. There are clients for Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows.
    9.

  10. Installation on Mac OS X and Windows is the same as for any software 
    11. 

  11. application: download the program and then double-click it to launch the 
    12. 

  12. installation, and then follow the installation wizard. After it is installed and 
    13. 

  13. configured the sync client will automatically keep itself updated; see 
    14. 

  14. :doc:`autoupdate` for more information.

  16. Linux users must follow the instructions on the download page to add the 
    17. 

  17. appropriate repository for their Linux distribution, install the signing key, 
    18. 

  18. and then use their package managers to install the desktop sync client. Linux 
    19. 

  19. users will also update their sync clients via package manager, and the client 
    20. 

  20. will display a notification when an update is available. 
    21.

  22. Linux users must also have a password manager enabled, such as GNOME Keyring or
    23. 

  23. KWallet, so that the sync client can login automatically.

  31. The installation wizard takes you step-by-step through configuration options and 
    32. 

  32. account setup. First you need to enter the URL of your ownCloud server.

  42. On the Local Folder Option screen you may sync 
    43. 

  43. all of your files on the ownCloud server, or select individual folders. The

  44. default local sync folder is ``ownCloud``, in your home directory. You may 
    45. 

  45. change this as well.

  51. When you have completed selecting your sync folders, click the Connect button

  52. at the bottom right. The client will attempt to connect to your ownCloud
